It all depends upon the student. If a student has a strong Mathematical foundation including a superior grip on the English language – he or she can certainly opt for self-studying.
However, it must be noted that SAT usually asks intellectual questions, which test a student’s practical understanding of a concept. Amid high competition, it is often seen that students score poorly due to a lack of appropriate guidance.
Litera centre has onboarded some of the best SAT teachers who not only teach you with higher efficiency but also use interactive teaching methods and technologies for maximum outcomes.
All our SAT sessions are carefully designed and are based on the latest study pattern, syllabus, and academic resources.
There is no exact answer to this question as every student learns differently. Some of the students absorb and understand the concepts comparatively faster and usually take lesser time.
However, from an average student’s perspective – Students must devote between 10 to 20 hours per week over at least 10 to 12 weeks. If a student is committed and studies with determination, this much time is enough to crack the SAT exam.
Litera Centre offers:
- 55 hours of concept-based sessions with topic-wise practice exercises
Our courses are enough for an exhaustive SAT preparation. Our students usually feel confident after attending our classes and go on to achieve high scores.

After the expiry of the above-mentioned time frame – The students are required to pay $12 per college to which they are sending their report cards.
YES. From 2023, SAT will be held digitally. The present system of conducting the exam in pen and paper mode will be scrapped.
In March 2022, a pilot model of the digital SAT was developed and tested in the US. The response was positive with a whopping 85% of the students finding the experience to be excellent.
Furthermore, the digital SAT will be much shorter in duration – two hours instead of three. College Board has also ensured that the students get comparatively more time to answer each question.
Think of SAT prep like building a strong bridge—you can’t rush the foundations if you want it to support a heavy score. Most successful students dedicate 60-80 hours spread over 2-3 months for significant Score Improvement (150-250 points). Start with an official Practice Test to diagnose your baseline, then allocate 5-10 hours per week, focusing heavily on your weakest section. Â
The Digital SAT isn’t inherently easier or harder; it’s simply different, prioritizing efficiency and a better student experience. It’s shorter (about 2 hours), provides more time per question, and allows a calculator for all math sections, which reduces test fatigue. However, its adaptive format means early mistakes in the first module can limit your maximum score potential, making precision critical from the start. Â
A “good” score is one that puts you at or above the 75th percentile for your target universities, meaning you scored higher than 75% of admitted students. For highly competitive schools, this typically means a score of 1470 or higher, with an ideal target often above 1550. Focus your energy on achieving your school’s 75th percentile, which acts as a strong benchmark for a successful application. Â
Don’t underestimate the power of free, high-quality material—it’s your most accessible prep tool! The gold standard is the official College Board’s Bluebook app, which provides full-length digital Practice Tests that perfectly mimic the exam experience. Complement this with the free, comprehensive video lessons and exercises offered by Khan Academy, which is officially partnered with the College Board. Â
Improving Reading & Writing often feels slow, but success hinges on mastering Test-Taking Strategies, not just vocabulary. Focus less on general reading and more on practicing the specific question types, such as Words in Context and Standard English Conventions. Start by reviewing sentence structure and punctuation rules, as these are highly tested and offer the fastest point gains in the Writing section. Â
This decision is like choosing a sport: both test core skills, but their styles differ drastically. The ACT is a faster-paced test with a dedicated Science section, while the SAT emphasizes reasoning and depth in its Reading and Math sections. The best way to decide is to take one full-length, timed Practice Test for both exams and compare your composite scores and comfort level. Â
